New Student Process and Timeline
You've applied to Texas State and been accepted. Now what?
Timeline
Application
You will be contacted with an admissions decisions 4-6 weeks after your application is completed.
Orientation
Holds for online orientations are lifted within 72 hours. On-campus orientation holds are lifted same-day.
Advising
Advising holds are lifted same-day for on-campus orientation attendees and during a student's advising appointment for online orientation attendees.
Registration
You can register once orientation and advising are completed and any other holds you may have are lifted (meningitis, TSI, etc).
Before Class Registration
Meet with an Advisor
Once you have completed orientation, you will meet with an advisor to discuss your degree requirements and transfer courses. Please call 512-245-1852.
Lift Holds
You'll need to contact the departments necessary to lift any remaining holds you may have (meningitis, TSI, housing, etc).
Other Things To Do
Contact Offices
Contact the necessary offices you may be part of to receive benefits (Veteran's Affairs, Disability Services, etc).
