Application for College Funding to Support Scholarly Publication

The College of Liberal Arts may provide partial funding to help cover the publication fee when funding is available. The related college policy, “Support for Scholarly and Creative Activities”, can be found on our webpage here. We follow Section 05 of this policy when evaluating and funding COLA faculty’s scholarly publication needs.

To apply for college support for scholarly publication, please make sure that you meet the following criteria:

  • Is this publication a peer-reviewed scholarly /creative work? -This program does not fund publication of textbooks or translations of previously published books.
  • Is this an initial publication? This program does not fund publication of reprint, subsequent, or reissued editions.
  • Does your appointment at TXST require research, scholarly, and/or creative activities?
  • Did you receive the college publication support in the past two years?
  • Are you the sole or primary author/creator of this publication?
  • Did you check the applicability of agreements TXST may have with some publishers for APC waiver or discount?
  • Did you research other publication options, including those that do not incur such a publication cost?
  • Has this scholarly /creative work been accepted for publication? Do you have an invoice /document to show the amount of the total cost?
  • Do you have funds from a research grant and/or your IDC account to help cover (portion of ) the publication cost?
  • Did you consult with your Chair for possible departmental support?
